Monika Del Rio, born in Warsaw, she started her piano studies when she was for years old. After she received the diploma of Music Master from the Academia Frederic Chopin in Warsaw, she was awarded a scholarship by the French Government to continue her studies at the Ecole Normale Superieure de Musique in Paris. She shares her concertist life between France and Poland playing the first place in Lyon for the Association of Frederic Chopin and later in Paris. In Warsaw Monika perform regularly at Szuster Palace, Ostrogski Palace (seat of the Frederic Chopin Association), Staszic Palace, the Old Orangerie, Island Palace and the Royal Castle. She performed also in Tunisia for the Embassy of Japan, at the Russian Cultural Center, in the Center of Arabic and Mediterranean Music Ennejma Ezzahra in Sidi Bou Said and in the Cathedral Saint Luis Acropolium in Carthage. In 2012 she played two concerts in Ethiopia - in Mekele University and in Yared School of Music in Addis Ababa. In 2013 she played in concert in Addis Ababa with Celine Ferland and famous Ethiopian jazz musicians: Henock Temesgen, Nati Tesemma and Girum Mezmur. The same year she participated in the International Festival of Classic Music in Addis Ababa with the recital of Polish Music – „from Chopin to Lutoslawski“. She represented Poland, beeing invitated by Polish Embassy in Etiopia. In 2014 she played again two concerts in Mekele, with Ethiopian and American musicians. The same year she gave the concert in French Embassy in Addis Ababa. The repertoire of Monika DEL RIO extends to works from the XVIII century to the XX century (jazz included) with a preference for the works of Chopin, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Satie and Claude Bolling. She recorded her first CD, a Chopin Recital, in April 1996 at the Polish Radio’s Studio S1 in Warsaw.
